MARC ZOLLINGER
Composer/Guitarist/Improvisor

(b.1990 São Paulo, Brazil) MARC ZOLLINGER is a San Fransisco based Guitarist/Composer/Teacher who works in plays and composes in styles including Jazz, Brazilian, and Avant Garde. As a composer, Marc has premiered works for chamber ensembles ranging form to large Ensemble to Clarinet and Piano. As a performer he has played alongside musicians such as Kamasi Washington and William Winant at venues like the Watts Jazz Festival, the San Francisco Jewish Museum, and the ODC Theater. Marc has a BA in Composition from Berklee College of Music and an MA in Composition from Mills College where he studied with Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Frith, and Zeena Parkins.

Teaching
I have been actively teaching guitar for over 6 years now. I've taught from elementary school level to college level and I focus on fundamentals, such as theory, improvisation, reading, technique, and interpretation. It is a passion of mine and I offer lessons both online and in-person.
Performing
I perform Jazz, Bossa Nova, and Samba styles as a solo performer, duo, trio, and quartet. This includes concerts, private events, parties, and weddings.
Composing
I compose music for film and as well as for commissions. Recently I composed the score for an award-winning documentary film, Quba!. I have also composed music for an multidisciplinary art exhibit for the award-winning sculptor, Maria Elena Gonzalez.
